The Millennial or Y generation, born 1980 to 2000, make up a huge segment of our population, roughly 80 million Americans. Research indicates that about 70% of this generation considers church to be irrelevant in their lives. The result is a 40% drop in church attendance between teen and early adult years.
Churches must transform their facilities to meet the needs of this new generation. As Paul said to the Corinthians, we believe that in order to "win as many as possible", we must "become all things to all people so that by all possible means we might save some." Our passion and commitment is in helping churches better understand and prepare for the largest generational shift in the history of our country.
How can churches become more relevant to this new generation? There are 6 keys that churches should consider as they plan for the future.
