Trinity Christian Academy (TX), performing arts center

Construction has begun on the Performing Arts Center for Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, Texas. Architect Jeff Forrest, team lead in the BGW Dallas office, created an effective master plan along with the building designs for performing arts and athletics. This new facility was designed adjacent to the existing upper school, providing an impressive entryway and lobby space to freshen up the older facility. BGW Builder Kodiak Constructors of Dallas broke ground for the facility last month.

The original cost estimate for the Performing Arts Center was $6.1 million; the current economy (2009) has brought costs down to $5.5 million. TCA has decided to begin the first phase of construction and will leave some shelled interior spaces for future development. The 40,300 SF facility will house a 900-seat auditorium with state-of-the-art stage, lighting and sound equipment as well as a black box theater, choir room and band hall – the second phase will add three more rehearsal and performance spaces.
