Congratulations on the second phase of construction recently completed at Horizon Christian School in Hood River, Oregon. The regulation size gymnasium was finished and provides a permanent home for the school’s state-championship basketball team. Classrooms, science labs, computer labs, a media center, band/music rooms, art studio, offices and meeting rooms were completed in late 2006. A future final phase will complete the 51,000 SF building, outfitting the cafeteria and kitchen.
The school was a model for shared space ingenuity; the facility was designed from the earliest phases with one-third to be occupied by a local, non-affiliated church. With stand alone features, the church’s portion of the building gives them office space, classroom access and the shared chapel for weekend services.
